The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) has achieved a significant milestone by securing the sixth position among universities in the UAE in the 2025 QS World University Rankings. AURAK has been ranked at 485th position globally in this prestigious list, showcasing the university’s dedication to excellence in higher education. The QS World University Rankings is a respected publication that evaluates universities based on various factors such as academic and employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations per faculty member, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio.

AURAK’s success in the QS World University Rankings follows its attainment of the QS five-star plus rating in 2023, making it the first university in the UAE to receive this prestigious accolade. The university’s exceptional performance across key categories like teaching, employability, academic development, facilities, and innovation has solidified its position among the world’s top universities. Dr David A Schmidt, president of AURAK, expressed his pride in the university’s elevation in the rankings, highlighting AURAK’s growing influence and excellence in the global academic landscape.

Dr Ashwin Fernandes, executive director – Middle East, Africa & South Asia, commended AURAK for its outstanding debut in the QS World University Rankings, attributing the success to the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and innovative educational practices. AURAK’s achievement reflects the dedication of its faculty, staff, and students, as well as its strategic vision for continuous improvement and innovation. The university’s global recognition is further reinforced by its accreditation from reputable organizations such as the CAA in the UAE, SACSCOC in the USA, and QAA in the UK, as well as endorsements from ACCA, ABET, and AACSB.

Overall, AURAK’s significant position in the 2025 QS World University Rankings is a testament to its unwavering commitment to excellence in higher education. The university’s remarkable performance in key areas such as academic reputation, faculty quality, and internationalization has solidified its reputation as a leading institution in the UAE and beyond. As AURAK continues to strive for academic excellence and global impact, it sets a commendable standard for other universities to follow in the pursuit of educational innovation and success.
