AlUla, the historic oasis city in northwest Saudi Arabia, has recently joined forces with Riyadh Air, the country’s new world-class airline. The partnership was solidified through a memorandum of understanding signed at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai. This collaboration aims to increase the visibility of AlUla and Riyadh Air to travelers worldwide, with the ultimate goal of boosting tourist numbers to AlUla from key global markets.

Rami AlMoallim, Vice President of Destination Management and Marketing at The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the potential for both AlUla and Riyadh Air to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s broader tourism objectives. Osamah Alnuaiser, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Riyadh Air, also noted the significance of the partnership, emphasizing the enriching experiences that AlUla offers to its visitors.

The alliance between AlUla and Riyadh Air will involve various initiatives focused on delivering seamless and immersive digital experiences. By leveraging shared data insights, both entities will be able to refine their content and product strategies effectively. This collaborative effort will enable AlUla and Riyadh Air to identify trends and behavioral patterns that support data-driven decisions and strategies, ultimately enhancing the profiles of both the destination and the airline.

As part of the partnership, AlUla and Riyadh Air will work together to increase tourist volumes to AlUla from key global markets. The collaboration is seen as a positive step towards achieving Saudi Arabia’s broader tourism goals. Through this alliance, both entities aim to harness the global excitement surrounding AlUla as the Kingdom’s premier luxury boutique heritage destination.

With the launch of Riyadh Air’s maiden flight anticipated for mid-2025, the partnership with AlUla marks a significant milestone for the airline.
