The Ministry of Tourism in Bahrain is making headlines for its commitment to supporting Bahraini talent. In response to a question from MP Basma Mubarak, Tourism Minister Fatima Al Sairafi confirmed that the entire workforce of the ministry consists of Bahraini nationals who are employed on permanent contracts. This decision reflects the ministry’s belief in the competence of Bahraini professionals and its dedication to providing them with opportunities for growth and development.

Al Sairafi emphasized the importance of supporting national plans and initiatives aimed at developing the skills and abilities of Bahraini citizens. By having a workforce comprised entirely of Bahraini nationals, the Ministry of Tourism is actively contributing to the country’s efforts to empower its local workforce and promote national talent. This move also highlights the ministry’s pride in Bahraini capabilities and its commitment to nurturing and investing in local talent.

One key aspect of the ministry’s approach to supporting its workforce is its focus on employee training. According to Al Sairafi, all employees participate in at least 40 hours of annual training, which includes both theoretical and practical components. This commitment to ongoing training and development ensures that Bahraini professionals working within the Ministry of Tourism have access to opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge, ultimately benefiting both the individuals and the organization as a whole.

In addition to providing training opportunities, the Ministry of Tourism’s decision to employ Bahraini nationals on permanent contracts also speaks to the stability and security offered to its workforce. By ensuring that all employees have permanent contracts, the ministry is reinforcing its commitment to supporting Bahraini professionals in their careers and providing them with long-term opportunities for growth and advancement within the organization.

The Ministry of Tourism’s approach to workforce management not only reflects its dedication to supporting Bahraini talent but also aligns with national priorities for skill development and capacity building. By maintaining an all-Bahraini workforce, the ministry is setting a positive example for other organizations in the country and showcasing the value of investing in local talent. This commitment to Bahraini professionals will likely have a ripple effect across the tourism sector, encouraging other companies to prioritize the development and growth of their local workforce.

Overall, the Ministry of Tourism’s decision to have an all-Bahraini workforce underscores its commitment to fostering local talent and supporting national priorities for skill development. By providing opportunities for training and growth, as well as stable employment through permanent contracts, the ministry is not only investing in the success of its employees but also contributing to the broader goals of Bahrain’s economic and social development. As the country continues to focus on building a skilled and capable workforce, the Ministry of Tourism sets a strong example of how organizations can support local talent and contribute to the growth and prosperity of the nation.
