The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has announced the final phase of the Riyadh Metro project, with the Orange Line set to begin operating on January 5. This marks the completion of all six lines of the Riyadh Metro network, connecting various parts of the city. The Orange Line, also known as Line 3, spans 41 kilometers from Jeddah Road in the west to the second eastern ring road in the east. The commission has stated that five stations on the Orange Line will be operational from 6:00 am to midnight, providing more convenient transportation options for residents and visitors.

In addition to the Orange Line, three new stations on the Blue Line connecting Olaya Street to Batha have also been announced. The Blue Line is part of the initial phase of the project, along with the Yellow Line and Purple Line, which began operations on December 1. The Red Line and Green Line were introduced in the second phase on December 15. The operation of all six lines of the Riyadh Metro network aims to improve connectivity within the city and make transportation more accessible for everyone.

The Riyadh Metro is the largest in the Middle East and the longest driverless train in the world, covering a total of 176 kilometers and encompassing 85 stations, including four main stations. Passengers can easily plan their journeys and purchase tickets using the Darb application, ticket offices, self-service devices at train stations, or digital payment methods. The commission has provided multiple channels for obtaining information, such as the unified call center for public transport, the Riyadh Public Transport website, and official social media accounts.

With the completion of the phased rollout of the Riyadh Metro, residents and visitors can benefit from a more efficient and sustainable public transportation system in the city. The network of six main lines will offer improved connectivity and accessibility to different parts of Riyadh, making it easier for people to travel within the city. The commission’s efforts to enhance transportation infrastructure align with the city’s vision for sustainable urban development and modernization.

The introduction of the Orange Line and the expansion of the Blue Line demonstrate the continued progress and development of the Riyadh Metro project. The commission’s commitment to providing a reliable and convenient public transportation system reflects the city’s growth and transformation. The integration of modern technologies and digital payment methods further enhances the overall user experience, making it easier for passengers to navigate the metro system and plan their journeys efficiently.

As the largest and longest driverless train in the world, the Riyadh Metro sets a new standard for public transportation in the region. The network of six lines and 85 stations offers a comprehensive and sustainable solution to the city’s transportation needs. From the initial phases of operation to the completion of all six lines, the Riyadh Metro project represents a significant milestone in the city’s development and reinforces its position as a modern and progressive urban center. Residents and visitors alike can look forward to a more efficient and accessible public transportation system that enhances their quality of life.
