Business Confidence Index in Bahrain Sees Positive Growth
The Business Confidence Index in the Kingdom of Bahrain has shown encouraging signs of improvement during the third quarter of the current year, registering 85.39 points. This marks an increase from 85.32 points in the second quarter and 83.08 points in the first quarter, reflecting a gradual enhancement in business sentiment and optimism regarding the economic conditions and business environment in the country.
Continuous Rise in Business Confidence Index
Recent data published on the Bahrain Open Data Portal, as announced by the eGovernment Authority, indicates that the index rose by 0.07 points in the third quarter compared to the second quarter. This positive trajectory has continued throughout the year, following a rise of 2.24 points in the second quarter compared to the first quarter. From the beginning of the year, the index has increased by approximately 2.31 points, moving from 83.08 points in the first quarter to the current level of 85.39 points in the third quarter, achieving its highest level across the first three quarters of 2026.

The total volume of foreign direct investments in Bahrain stood at approximately 17.637 billion Bahraini Dinars in the first quarter of 2026, demonstrating the sustained dominance of Gulf investments in the investment landscape. The cumulative value of investments from countries within the Gulf Cooperation Council reached about 12.62 billion Bahraini Dinars, which accounts for the largest share of total foreign direct investments flowing into the kingdom. According to officials, Kuwait led the list of investing countries in Bahrain with investments totaling 6.17 billion Dinars, followed by Saudi Arabia with about 4.05 billion Dinars, and the United Arab Emirates with 1.68 billion Dinars.
Furthermore, Libya ranked fourth among investing countries with investments amounting to 1.32 billion Dinars. Other significant contributors include India with investments of 757.4 million Dinars, the Cayman Islands with 564.9 million Dinars, and Qatar at 439.2 million Dinars. Countries such as Japan and Turkey also contributed with 329.7 million Dinars and 328.9 million Dinars, respectively, while Oman contributed 274.7 million Dinars.
