Crafting a World-Class Nexus for Omani Art and Digital Assets

Muscat, Oman — [30th December, 2025] —

The National Museum of Oman and Silk Road Cultural Group Limited—a Hong Kong joint venture backed by MENA Investments, HKNEX under Hong Kong JME Capital Group, and Mandarin Power Group—have executed a cooperation agreement to inaugurate a premier China–Oman cultural exchange program at the National Museum in Muscat, slated for mid-2026. Anchored in Oman Vision 2040 and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the partnership ushers in a new chapter of high-level cultural fusion, immersive exhibitions, and globally networked collaboration. Through a suite of art and antiquities showcases and the first auction in Oman oriented to collectors across the Middle East and beyond, the initiative will be comprehensively realized within the National Museum of Oman.

Building on centuries of  Sino-Omani diplomatic and trade ties—tracing to the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) when the legendary navigator Zheng He led seven voyages to the Arabian Peninsula—the National Museum of Oman, with strong backing from Poly Foreverwell (Macau), will present more than 1,000 rare Chinese artifacts valued at roughly USD 10 billion. These exceptional works will headline the museum’s dedicated Chinese Art and Antiquities Gallery, with plans for touring displays at other Omani landmarks such as the Royal Opera House Muscat. The holdings feature Ming Dynasty masterpieces, including marquess pieces associated with early Ming envoy Zheng He—recognized as the first Chinese to set foot in Oman; alongside pivotal works from multiple Chinese dynasties.

Beyond exhibitions, with broad Omani support, Silk Road Cultural Group Limited will introduce in Oman a top-tier auction house accepting cryptocurrency payments, with a future Hong Kong stablecoin envisioned as a standard settlement currency. This collaboration will bring Muscat a world-class auction circuit, drawing global collectors and enthusiasts tin auction via digital assets. The inaugural sale, tentatively set for mid-July 2026, will unveil a curated suite of rare Chinese antiques, many debuting on the world stage—offering an unrivaled opportunity to acquire museum-grade treasures. Together, the National Museum of Oman and Silk Road Cultural Group aim to expand the museum’s collecting horizons to encompass diverse global masterworks, positioning Muscat to emerge swiftly as a world-class hub for a cultural connoisseur sanctuary.

At the signing ceremony, H.E. Jamal bin Hassan Al-Moosawi, Secretary General of the National Museum of Oman; H.E. Asila bint Salim Al-Samsami, Chairperson of Silk Road Cultural Group Limited; and Executive Directors Mr. Matthew Tai (Dai Zhiye) and Mr. Nelson Chan (Chan Nim-shun) voiced their ambition for this historic alliance. Silk Road Cultural Group reaffirms its commitment to leverage the aesthetic power and cultural depth of Chinese art and antiquities to deliver a superlative visitor experience, catalyze Oman’s tourism growth, advance the bold objectives of Oman Vision 2040, and, together with digital assets to build a world-class, internationally influential art auction platform.

Matthew Tai (戴志業) and Nelson Chan (陳念舜), Executive Directors of Silk Road Culture Group, presented to H.E. Jamal bin Hassan Al-Moosawi, Secretary General of the National Museum.

A portion of the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and Ming (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) artifacts entrusted by China to Oman on that day will be displayed at the Oman National Museum in the future.
