Doha, Qatar – Preparations are underway for the highly anticipated FIFA Arab Cup 2025, with a vibrant Arab Cup Fans Parade scheduled to take place at the newly revitalized Old Doha Port on November 24, 2025. The parade, announced by the Local Organising Committee, will showcase the flags and fervent support of the 16 participating Arab national teams. This event marks a significant step in building excitement for the tournament, which runs from December 1st to 18th.

The parade is set to begin at 3:30 PM local time and will feature traditional displays of national pride, including drumming performances and enthusiastic fan chants. The Old Doha Port is transforming into a central hub for cultural activities during the Arab Cup, alongside other iconic locations across the city. Organizers intend for the parade to foster a spirit of regional unity and celebration.

Old Doha Port Takes Center Stage for the Arab Cup

The selection of the Old Doha Port as a key venue highlights its recent redevelopment as a tourist and cultural destination. Historically a vital commercial center, the port has undergone significant upgrades to accommodate events like the upcoming fans parade and contribute to the overall tournament experience. This revitalization project aims to balance preserving Qatar’s heritage with modernizing its infrastructure for international events.

According to the Local Organising Committee, the parade is part of a larger program of cultural and entertainment events planned throughout the duration of the tournament. Lusail Boulevard, Souq Waqif, and the areas surrounding the stadiums will also host attractions designed to engage both local residents and international visitors. These supplementary events aim to diversify the offerings beyond the football matches themselves.

Tournament Details and Participating Nations

Sixteen Arab national teams will compete in the FIFA Arab Cup 2025, vying for the prestigious trophy. The tournament serves as an important platform for assessing the preparedness of host nation facilities and operational readiness. It also offers participating teams valuable competitive experience at a high level.

The Arab Cup has a growing reputation as a key event in the regional football calendar. Past iterations have demonstrated the strong fan base and competitive spirit within the Arab world. This contributes to the tournament’s increasing prominence and appeal for players and supporters alike.

Beyond the sporting competition, the Arab Cup provides a boost to Qatar’s tourism sector. The influx of fans is expected to generate significant revenue and showcase the country’s hospitality and infrastructure. The government has invested heavily in infrastructure projects in anticipation of major sporting events.

The involvement of multiple landmarks – including the Old Doha Port, Lusail Boulevard, and Souq Waqif – is a strategic effort to distribute the tournament’s impact across Doha. This aims to alleviate potential congestion and enhance the overall experience for attendees. Coordinating events at these locations requires substantial logistical planning.

Security measures are also being carefully implemented to ensure the safety of fans and participants related to the Arab Cup. Qatar has experience hosting major international events, including the FIFA World Cup 2022, and will leverage those learnings to maintain a secure environment during the Arab Cup tournament. The effectiveness of these measures will be a key aspect of the event’s success.

Following the Fans Parade, the focus will shift to finalizing preparations at the competition venues. The tournament draw, scheduled for April 30, 2025, will determine the match schedule and groupings. Further details regarding ticket sales, transportation, and specific cultural programming are anticipated in the coming months, though potential logistical challenges related to the capacity of event spaces remain to be monitored.
