Kazakhstan is stepping up its efforts to develop the sport of padel, with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev meeting recently with Luigi Carraro, President of the International Padel Federation, and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Chairman of Premier Padel. The meeting highlighted the country’s growing interest in the sport, which has attracted over 1,500 active players and the establishment of 16 regional federations across Kazakhstan.

The development of padel infrastructure is a key focus, with 17 modern courts already operational and plans for the new ADD Padel Arena in Almaty. Scheduled for completion by 2027, this venue will feature 10 world-class courts, positioning it as one of Central Asia’s premier facilities for hosting major Premier Padel tournaments.

Padel Development in Kazakhstan

The country’s investment in padel is part of a broader strategy to promote sports development and attract international sporting events. According to President Tokayev, enhanced cooperation with the International Padel Federation is expected to further strengthen the development and popularization of padel in Kazakhstan.

As part of its development plan, Kazakhstan is focusing on expanding its padel infrastructure. The addition of the ADD Padel Arena will not only enhance the country’s sporting facilities but also provide a venue capable of hosting high-profile tournaments. This development is anticipated to boost the sport’s popularity and attract more players to the growing padel community.

Global Padel Trends

The growth of padel in Kazakhstan mirrors a global trend, with the sport gaining popularity worldwide. The International Padel Federation has been instrumental in promoting the sport, supporting the establishment of national federations and the development of infrastructure. As more countries invest in padel, the sport is expected to continue its upward trajectory.

Meanwhile, the involvement of high-profile figures such as Nasser Al-Khelaïfi in Premier Padel is likely to drive further interest and investment in the sport. Al-Khelaïfi’s role in promoting padel through major tournaments and events is expected to contribute to the sport’s global appeal.

Future Prospects

As Kazakhstan continues to develop its padel infrastructure and community, the country is poised to become a significant player in the global padel scene. The success of this endeavor will depend on sustained investment and cooperation with international sporting bodies. With the ADD Padel Arena set to open by 2027, the next few years will be crucial in determining Kazakhstan’s position in the world of padel.

The anticipated completion of the ADD Padel Arena by 2027 marks a significant milestone in Kazakhstan’s padel development plan. As the country continues to invest in the sport, it remains to be seen how these developments will impact the global padel landscape. The progress of padel in Kazakhstan will likely be influenced by its ability to attract major international tournaments and continue to grow its player base.
