Bahrain is set to witness a significant expansion in its hospitality sector between 2024 and 2026, with the announcement of over 3,000 new hotel rooms by Her Excellency Mrs. Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism. This development is part of Bahrain’s strategic efforts to position itself as a premier and diverse tourism destination, attracting a wide range of travelers. The expansion is expected to solidify Bahrain’s position as a leading regional tourism hub and further enhance its appeal to both leisure and business travelers.

The new hotels set to open in Bahrain will offer a diverse range of options for travelers, from luxury accommodations to cultural experiences, catering to different preferences and interests. This variety aims to enrich the country’s tourism offerings and make Bahrain an ideal destination for families, individuals, groups, and corporate events. The expansion will also support the growth of business tourism and MICE activities, contributing to the overall tourism sector’s development.

A total of 16 hotels are scheduled to be established in Bahrain between 2024 and 2026, with the first four-star and five-star hotels expected to open their doors in 2024. The subsequent hotel openings up to 2026 are projected to boost tourism revenues, create new job opportunities in the hospitality industry, and strengthen Bahrain’s position as a thriving tourism destination in the region. These expansions will also benefit small and medium enterprises through collaborations with local suppliers and contractors, enhancing Bahrain’s tourism infrastructure and services.

The initiative to expand Bahrain’s hospitality sector aligns with the Kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030, emphasizing tourism as a key pillar of growth with a positive impact on the GDP. This strategic move aims to showcase Bahrain as a globally renowned tourism destination, blending traditional Arabian hospitality, cultural heritage, and modern entertainment experiences. The goal is to make each visitor’s experience in Bahrain memorable and unique, contributing to the overall economic prosperity of the Kingdom and enhancing its reputation as a must-visit destination.

Her Excellency Mrs. Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to continuously enhancing its tourism appeal and enriching the country’s tourism offerings to meet the changing demands of travelers. The support from the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa has been instrumental in driving the development of Bahrain’s hospitality sector. The ongoing efforts of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority in collaboration with the private sector demonstrate a concerted approach to elevate the Kingdom’s tourism landscape and elevate visitor experiences.

Overall, the expansion of Bahrain’s hospitality sector through the establishment of new hotels between 2024 and 2026 reflects the Kingdom’s dedication to positioning itself as a premier tourism destination in the region. The addition of over 3,000 new hotel rooms, catering to different traveler preferences and interests, is poised to boost tourism revenues, create job opportunities, and support the growth of small and medium enterprises. With a focus on offering a diverse range of experiences, Bahrain is set to attract a broader audience of travelers and further elevate its status as a leading regional tourism hub.
