A delegation of 185 young athletes from International Curriculum Schools in India recently visited Bahrain to take part in the ISF World School Gymnasiade held in Manama. Organized by the International School Sports Organization (ISSO) India, the event brought together talented athletes from around the world to showcase their skills in a variety of disciplines such as Archery, Artistic Gymnastics, Athletics, Badminton, and more. The Indian team excelled at the competition, securing two gold medals, four silver medals, and six bronze medals, making a significant impact on the international stage.

During their time in Bahrain, the young athletes also had the opportunity to participate in the ‘Visit Embassy’ Programme. On 29th October 2024, they toured the Embassy of India where they met with Ambassador Vinod K. Jacob. The Ambassador engaged with the athletes, providing them with insights into the various roles and departments within the Embassy, as well as the initiatives and exhibitions hosted by the Embassy. The visit not only allowed the athletes to represent their schools on an international platform but also deepened their understanding of the historic bilateral relations between India and Bahrain.

The visit to the Embassy of India in Bahrain not only provided the young athletes with a unique cultural experience but also emphasized the importance of international collaboration in the world of sports. Through their interactions with Ambassador Vinod K. Jacob and the Embassy staff, the athletes gained valuable insights into the significance of fostering strong ties between nations through sporting events. This experience not only broadened their perspectives but also encouraged them to continue pursuing their passion for sports on a global scale.

As part of their visit to Bahrain, the Indian delegation of young athletes had the chance to learn more about the rich history and cultural heritage of the country. They were able to explore the various attractions in Bahrain and immerse themselves in the local traditions, gaining a deeper appreciation for the cultural diversity that exists in the region. This exposure to a new environment helped the athletes develop a sense of appreciation for different cultures and traditions, ultimately fostering a spirit of unity and friendship among the participants.

The success of the Indian athletes at the ISF World School Gymnasiade in Bahrain not only brought pride to their schools and country but also served as a testament to their hard work and dedication to their respective sports. The medals won by the team are a testament to their skills and talents, showcasing their capabilities on the international stage. The athletes are now back in India with a renewed sense of determination to continue training and competing at the highest level, inspired by their experience in Bahrain and motivated to achieve even greater success in the future.
