After twenty years of worshipping in Bahrain, the Orthodox Christian community is finally celebrating the start of construction on their own church in the Seef District. This milestone has been made possible thanks to a generous land gift from His Majesty King Hamad, which will allow for the creation of a 1,250 square metre project. The church will include a main worship space, a multi-purpose hall, accommodation for the priest, and office space. The design of the church will uniquely combine Byzantine tradition with Bahraini architectural features, creating a new and distinct addition to the area.

Father Saba Haidosian, the parish priest, expressed his gratitude and joy at the prospect of having a dedicated church building for the Orthodox Christian community in Bahrain. He sees this new church as a representation of the long-standing presence of Orthodox Christians in the country, as well as a way to strengthen ties with the broader society. The donation of land from His Majesty King Hamad is seen as a testament to Bahrain’s enduring support for its Christian community and the peaceful coexistence among different faiths in the region.

Construction on the new church has already begun, with Maher Contracting taking the lead on the project. The General Manager, Maher Al Ansari, has expressed his gratitude to the church’s board for entrusting his firm with this important task. He has vowed to complete the project to the highest standards and deliver it on schedule. The project will be overseen by Salah Al Kohaji Consulting Office, which has been tasked with ensuring smooth progress and maintaining quality throughout every stage of the construction process.

This new church is not just a building for the Orthodox Christian community, but a symbol of peaceful coexistence and religious freedom in Bahrain. The construction of this church represents the country’s commitment to supporting all faith communities and promoting tolerance and harmony among its diverse population. The Orthodox Christian community in Bahrain is looking forward to having a dedicated place of worship that reflects their long-standing presence in the country and showcases their unique traditions and culture.

The Orthodox Christian community in Bahrain is eagerly anticipating the completion of the new church in the Seef District. This project is not just a building, but a testament to the strong ties between the Orthodox Christian community and the wider society in Bahrain. The church is expected to become a focal point for the community, where they can come together to worship, celebrate, and strengthen their bonds with one another. The completion of this project will mark a significant milestone for the Orthodox Christian community in Bahrain and will be a cause for celebration and gratitude for many years to come.

In conclusion, the start of construction on the new Orthodox Christian church in the Seef District of Bahrain is a momentous occasion for the community. With the generous support of His Majesty King Hamad and the dedication of Maher Contracting and Salah Al Kohaji Consulting Office, this project is well underway and is set to become a symbol of peaceful coexistence and religious freedom in the country. The completion of the church will not only provide a dedicated place of worship for the Orthodox Christian community, but will also serve as a testament to Bahrain’s commitment to supporting all faith communities and promoting harmony and tolerance among its diverse population.
