Two Gulf nationals, aged 24, are facing murder charges following a fatal hit-and-run incident outside a nightclub in the Al Hoora area. The incident took place on August 2nd, 2024, when the two defendants allegedly intentionally and premeditatedly killed one security guard and injured two others. The incident stemmed from a dispute the night before when the defendants, who were intoxicated, tried to bring alcohol into the nightclub, violating hotel regulations. After being refused entry, a verbal altercation escalated into a physical fight.
Around three hours later, at 1 AM, one of the defendants drove a vehicle recklessly, striking the security guards outside the nightclub. One guard was fatally injured, while the other two sustained various injuries. Witnesses, including the nightclub manager and other employees, identified the driver and passenger as the same individuals involved in the earlier altercation. Security camera footage also showed a Gulf-registered vehicle hitting the victims.
After the incident, the defendants reportedly fled to a hotel, changed their clothes, checked out, and left Bahrain via the King Fahd Causeway. Police investigation, aided by CCTV footage, identified them as the perpetrators. One of the defendants returned to the Kingdom after 19 days, where he was apprehended at the King Fahd Causeway. During questioning, he confessed to the altercation and driving into the security guards.
The case is currently before the court, with the defendants facing serious charges, including premeditated murder and attempted murder. A forensic report confirmed the deceased security guard’s injuries were consistent with a high-impact collision, resulting in fatal bleeding. Reports on the injured guards detailed various injuries, some of which required extensive treatment. CCTV footage from the hotel also captured the earlier altercation between the defendants and the security personnel. The prosecution is on course to bring justice to the victims of this tragic incident.
