Al Bandar Rotana and Al Bandar Arjaan by Rotana hotels in Dubai have recently been honored with a sustainability award from Johnson Controls at WETEX 2024. This accolade commends the hotels for their remarkable efforts in environmental conservation, which includes achieving 30% water savings and 40% electricity savings through the implementation of cutting-edge systems and sustainability initiatives.

Johnson Controls, a global leader in smart building technologies and services, has been instrumental in driving sustainability innovations. Their solutions encompass comprehensive cooling and energy efficiency technologies that help clients optimize resources and reduce their carbon footprint. The partnership between Al Bandar Rotana and Johnson Controls showcases the impact of collaboration in advancing sustainable solutions within the hospitality industry.

The sustainability project at the hotels was spearheaded by Ayman Ashor, General Manager of Al Bandar Rotana and Al Bandar Arjaan by Rotana, a staunch advocate for sustainability through Rotana Earth initiatives. His dedication to innovation and environmental responsibility paved the way for the partnership with Johnson Controls in implementing the Cooling as a Service (CaaS) project. Together, the teams worked harmoniously to deploy advanced energy management and water conservation technologies, leading to exceptional resource efficiency.

Ayman Ashor expressed gratitude for the recognition from Johnson Controls, emphasizing the hotels’ ongoing commitment to innovating and embracing sustainable practices. The award sets a new standard for their dedication to building a greener future and showcases the potential for collaborative efforts to achieve significant environmental impact. Devrim Tekeli, Vice President & General Manager, Middle East & Africa at Johnson Controls, commended their partnership with Al Bandar Rotana in creating sustainable, smart environments, highlighting the impact of technological innovation in the hospitality sector.

The joint effort of both organizations in creating a sustainable future is symbolized by the award’s theme, which emphasizes building smart environments for generations to come. In addition to this recognition, Al Bandar Rotana aims to achieve the “Gold” category in the Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp, following their previous award in the Silver category. This prestigious recognition from Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) underscores the hotels’ commitment to sustainability and compliance with Dubai’s stringent sustainability requirements.

Located along Dubai Creek, Al Bandar Rotana & Al Bandar Arjaan by Rotana are luxury properties known for their world-class hospitality. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovation, these hotels continue to set an example in environmental conservation and resource efficiency.
