Several SpiceJet flights to and from Dubai were cancelled due to “operational reasons”, leading to inconvenience for passengers. Reports indicate that some passengers were denied check-in due to the airline’s failure to settle airport dues. Additionally, passengers received notifications informing them of the flight cancellations, causing them to reschedule appointments or cancel their trips. SpiceJet assured affected passengers that they would be accommodated on subsequent flights, other airlines, or provided with full refunds.

Former UAE resident Sajay Warrier shared his experience of having his flight cancelled, leading to last-minute changes in his schedule. He opted for a refund and booked another flight, causing him to miss a morning meeting in Dubai. Another passenger, S.N., also had to adjust her journey and rebook her flight due to the cancellation. Despite the inconvenience, she chose to cancel and refund her ticket, planning to travel at a later date.

Passengers who were affected by the cancellations received SMS notifications from SpiceJet, apologizing for the inconvenience caused. In some cases, passengers had to rebook their flights through a provided link. The situation escalated when Mumbai airport issued an advisory to SpiceJet passengers warning of potential flight disruptions, although this advisory was later retracted. Reports also indicated that SpiceJet employees, including pilots and cabin crew, were facing issues over delayed salaries, with payments overdue for two months.

Overall, the recent flight cancellations by SpiceJet have caused inconvenience for passengers traveling to and from Dubai. The airline’s failure to settle airport dues and operational challenges resulted in last-minute flight cancellations, forcing passengers to reschedule appointments or cancel their trips. Despite assurances from SpiceJet to accommodate affected passengers on subsequent flights or provide full refunds, the situation has disrupted travel plans and caused frustration for travelers. Moving forward, passengers will need to stay informed about potential disruptions and be prepared for sudden changes in flight schedules to avoid further inconvenience.
