Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani recently announced the “Jio AI-Cloud Welcome Offer,” which will provide Jio users with up to 100 GB of free cloud storage. The offer is set to launch around Diwali this year and aims to make cloud data storage and AI-powered services accessible to everyone across India. Ambani stated that the goal is to ensure that Jio users can securely store and access all their digital content and data through this free cloud storage service.

To support AI adoption, Reliance’s telecom arm, Jio, is developing a suite of tools and platforms under the initiative called “Jio Brain.” Ambani mentioned that Jio is working on developing a comprehensive suite of tools and platforms that span the entire AI lifecycle to streamline AI adoption. The company aims to democratize AI by offering powerful AI models and services to everyone in India at affordable prices. Jio plans to establish gigawatt scale AI-ready data centers in Jamnagar powered entirely by Reliance’s green energy to reflect their commitment to sustainability and a greener future.

Ambani highlighted Jio’s achievements in transforming India’s digital landscape, stating that Jio has transformed India from 5G-dark to 5G-bright with one of the world’s most advanced 5G networks. In just two years, over 130 million customers have embraced Jio True 5G, showcasing the rapid adoption of advanced technology in India. He also mentioned that Jio is one of India’s leading patent holders with over 350 patents in 5G and 6G technologies, securing their place at the forefront of global innovation.

At the Reliance AGM, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), introduced a new service called Jio Phonecall AI, which aims to make using AI as easy as making a phone call. Jio Phonecall AI allows users to record and store phone calls in Jio Cloud, automatically transcribe them, summarize the call, and even translate it into different languages. This service enables users to capture and access important voice conversations easily, making them searchable, shareable, and understandable across languages with just a few clicks.

Overall, Reliance Industries Limited’s focus on providing free cloud storage to Jio users, developing AI tools and platforms under Jio Brain, and making AI more accessible through Jio Phonecall AI showcases the company’s commitment to innovation and technology. Their efforts to democratize AI, establish AI-ready data centers, and secure patents in advanced technologies demonstrate their dedication to transforming India’s digital landscape. With these initiatives, Reliance is paving the way for a more connected and technologically advanced future for India and its citizens.
