King Salman names Lt. Gen. Fahd Al-Salman as the Commander of the Joint Forces.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman recently made a series of royal decrees, including appointing Fahd Al-Salman as Commander of the Joint Forces. Al-Salman was promoted from the rank of major general to lieutenant general in this appointment. Additionally, King Salman terminated the service of Lt. Gen. Mutlaq Al-Azima, Commander of the Joint Forces, and appointed him as an advisor to the Royal Court with the rank of lieutenant general.

In another decree, the King relieved Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces Lt. Gen. Fahd Al-Ghufaili from his position and appointed him as Deputy Chief of the General Staff with the rank of lieutenant general. Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Gharibi was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general and appointed as Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces.

Further decrees included relieving Chief of Staff of the Land Forces Lt. Gen. Fahd Al-Mutair from his position and appointing him as an advisor in the Office of the Minister of Defense. Maj. Gen. Fahd Al-Johni was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general and appointed as Chief of Staff of the Land Forces.

The royal decrees also saw the relieving of Samir Al-Tabib, advisor in the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and appointing him as an advisor in the Ministry of Defense with the rank of excellence. These appointments and promotions demonstrate King Salman’s commitment to ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the Kingdom’s military leadership.

The appointment of Fahd Al-Salman as Commander of the Joint Forces and the promotions and changes in leadership within the military reflect the ongoing efforts of the Kingdom to enhance the capabilities and readiness of its military forces. The changes also demonstrate the King’s emphasis on maintaining a strong and capable defense system to protect the Two Holy Mosques and the Kingdom as a whole.
