OQ Salalah, based in Dhofar Governorate, has rebranded to OQ Basic Industries (OQBi). This change aims to strengthen investment returns and establish a distinct corporate identity for its subsidiaries. OQBi operates in the Salalah Free Zone, with facilities including an ammonia plant, LPG plant, and methanol plant. These plants play a vital role in Oman’s industrial sector, producing products for various industries and boosting exports.

The ammonia plant produces 1,000 metric tonnes daily for fertilisers, cleaning products, and more. The methanol plant, with a daily capacity of 3,000 metric tonnes, supplies methanol for industrial applications. The LPG plant, with a daily capacity of 1,000 metric tonnes, produces propane, butane, and condensates for local and export markets. OQBi’s products contribute to Oman’s economic growth and the development of the industrial sector.

The launch of OQ Basic Industries represents the company’s commitment to Oman Vision 2040, focusing on sustainable growth, operational excellence, decarbonisation, energy efficiency, and local development. The brand’s vision of “Leadership through global solutions and exceptional talent” highlights its ambition to drive growth, implement best practices, and stay competitive in global markets. OQ Group’s dedication to continuous improvement, clean energy industries, and carbon neutrality aligns with global sustainability goals.

Engineer Khalid Khalfan Al Asmi, Managing Director of OQ Basic Industries, emphasizes the company’s dedication to economic diversification and maximizing returns in industrial initiatives. OQBi is committed to fostering innovation, sustainability, preserving Omani identity, and seeking growth opportunities that align with global and local economic trends. The company’s contributions to the local economy include spending on SMEs and community projects, supporting initiatives related to children, education, health, the environment, and more.

OQ Basic Industries’ new brand identity is a significant step in solidifying its economic presence in the region and empowering the industrial sector. The company’s focus on sustainability, economic diversification, and community support reflects its commitment to driving progress in Oman’s industrial landscape. With strong leadership, a focus on innovation, and a dedication to local development, OQBi is poised for continued success in the evolving global market.
