Dubai-based Emirati artist Latifa Saeed is gaining international recognition for her immersive installations that showcase UAE culture. Her work, such as the notable installation ‘Dust Devils’, draws inspiration from the UAE deserts, using technology like smoke machines and holograms to recreate natural whirlpools and tornadoes. Visitors experience a sensory journey through her installations, gaining insight into the atmospheric landscapes of the Middle Eastern deserts.

Growing up in Dubai and attending Latifa School for Girls, Latifa credits her strong artistic foundation for her current success. Her recent works have been featured in prestigious events like Abu Dhabi Art and the Venice Biennale, attracting top-tier artists, collectors, and critics. These experiences have provided a broader perspective on her work and a deeper understanding of her own nation and culture.

Participating in events like the Kochi fair has allowed Latifa to showcase her work on an international platform, bridging cultural gaps and engaging with communities outside of her own. The exposure to different perspectives and traditions has enriched her creativity, while also staying true to the values and traditions that define her identity as an Emirati artist.

Latifa’s work in Kochi, specifically ‘Notes from Another Shore’, celebrated the UAE-Kerala relationship, bringing new dimensions to the cultural landscape of both regions. The experience reinforced the idea that art transcends borders and languages, serving as a universal medium that brings people together in meaningful dialogue and engagement.

By participating in events like the Venice Biennale and the Kochi fair, Latifa has been able to share a piece of Emirati culture with international audiences, resonating with people from different backgrounds. This international exposure has allowed her to explore new ideas and innovations while staying rooted in her cultural heritage, ultimately enhancing her creativity and credibility as an artist. Her immersive installations continue to capture the imagination of art enthusiasts worldwide.
