The Qatar Publishers and Distributors Forum, in collaboration with the Children’s Literature Center, is preparing to launch the 2nd edition of the summer reading camp in Doha. The camp, which will run from Sunday to Wednesday, aims to promote reading and writing among children and youngsters. This year’s theme is “reading through the ages,” and it will include various activities and professional contests to engage the participants.

The director of the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum, Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, highlighted the importance of the camp in providing opportunities for children to expand their horizons in the world of writing. He emphasized that the camp is not just a summer activity but a step towards instilling a culture of reading in children and creating an erudite and conscious generation. This aligns with the ministry’s vision of promoting literacy and education.

Asmaa Al Kuwari, director of the Children’s Literature Center, expressed gratitude for the Ministry of Culture’s support for children’s activities and noted the positive response from parents towards the program. The center’s participation in the camp is part of its commitment to enhancing the role of reading and writing in children’s lives. The aim is to provide a rich cultural experience that will have a lasting impact on the hearts of the young participants.

The camp will focus on familiarizing children with the evolutionary stages of writing and the tools used in each age. By participating in activities and contests, children will not only develop their reading and writing skills but also gain a deeper understanding of the creative process. The goal is to nurture a love for literature and instill a sense of curiosity and exploration in the young minds.

Through the summer reading camp, children will have the opportunity to interact with books, authors, and fellow readers, creating a vibrant and engaging learning environment. The organizers hope that the camp will inspire a lifelong passion for reading and writing in the participants, shaping them into well-rounded and educated individuals. By providing a platform for creative expression and intellectual growth, the camp seeks to empower children and equip them with valuable skills for the future.

Overall, the 2nd edition of the summer reading camp in Doha promises to be a stimulating and enriching experience for children and youngsters. With a focus on promoting literacy, creativity, and critical thinking, the camp aims to instill a love for reading and writing in the participants. By fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity and exploration, the organizers hope to contribute to the development of a knowledgeable and enlightened generation in Qatar.
