Ahmed Hamad Al Sheikh, a 24-year-old electrical engineering graduate from the UAE, has made the unusual decision to work full-time at his family farm instead of pursuing a professional career. Growing up on the farm, he was introduced to livestock breeding at a young age and now manages farm operations, buying and trading livestock. His passion for farming began as a hobby but has now evolved into a successful business venture in Ras Al Khaimah.

Al Sheikh initially faced challenges balancing his university studies with farm management but with perseverance and support from family and friends, he was able to overcome these hurdles. Despite the financial demands and the occasional losses that come with livestock farming, he is determined to expand his business and create a specialized company that imports livestock from neighbouring countries. While he remains open to returning to his field of study, electrical engineering, if necessary, his focus is on developing his business further.

With an area of 65,000 square feet, Al Sheikh’s farm has enough space to accommodate several animals, and he is optimistic about receiving increased support from relevant authorities to bolster projects like his that contribute to food security and local production. He believes that support for young entrepreneurs in the field of farming could significantly benefit the national economy, and he is determined to continue growing his business and making a positive impact in the agriculture sector.

Ahmed Hamad Al Sheikh’s determination to succeed in the agriculture sector is driven by his passion for livestock breeding and his desire to contribute to ensuring the country’s food security. His journey from a young boy helping his family raise goats and sheep to a successful entrepreneur managing his own farm is a testament to his dedication and hard work. Despite the challenges he has faced along the way, Al Sheikh remains focused on expanding his business and creating a company that imports livestock to meet the growing demand in the UAE.

Through his determination and perseverance, Al Sheikh has overcome the initial challenges of balancing his university studies with farm management and has received widespread support from family and friends. With a vision of setting up his own production farm and establishing a company that imports livestock from neighbouring countries, he is committed to making a positive impact in the agriculture sector and contributing to the country’s food security. Despite the financial demands of the business, Al Sheikh remains optimistic about the future and is determined to continue growing his farm and expanding his operations.
