Look: The UAE’s Historic First Gold Medal Win at the Olympics

Sheikh Ahmed Mohammed Hasher Al Maktoum made history for the UAE by winning the country’s first gold medal in the Olympics on August 17, 2004, in the men’s double trap shooting competition at the Athens Olympics. The event took place at the Markopoulo Olympic Shooting Centre in Greece, where athletes shoot clay discs flying at high speed.
