Members of the Dawoodi Bohra community, originating from India, have been residing in Bahrain since 1885. Initially, they came to Bahrain as traders in search of prosperity, but over time, their presence has become deeply intertwined with the local culture, blending Indian heritage with Middle Eastern traditions. The community, which now consists of around 800 members, has played a significant role in the growth and development of Bahrain, particularly in sectors like construction, engineering, retail, and hospitality.

Guided by Sultan al Bohra Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the Dawoodi Bohras in Bahrain prioritize faith, community service, and social welfare. Their commitment to education, healthcare, and overall well-being of society highlights their desire for peaceful coexistence. Sustainability is a core value for the community, with initiatives such as tree planting, waste reduction, and resource conservation being actively pursued by its members in Bahrain. The philanthropic arm of the community, known as ‘Project Rise’, unites members worldwide in these efforts.

The recent emphasis on sustainable practices like tree planting and composting in Bahrain has been particularly inspiring, showcasing the community’s dedication to environmental preservation. Despite living far from their homeland, the Dawoodi Bohras in Bahrain have managed to preserve their cultural heritage through active engagement in traditional customs, establishing a strong sense of belonging within the community. Their existence represents a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, reflecting the essence of Bahraini culture.

As the Dawoodi Bohra community in Bahrain celebrates the 78th Independence Day of India, they highlight the diversity and unity that define both India and Bahrain. The spokesperson for the community, Ibrahim Zakiuddin, extends heartfelt congratulations to all Indians, both in Bahrain and back home, emphasizing the importance of patriotism and unity in inspiring and guiding individuals towards collective progress and prosperity. The Dawoodi Bohras in Bahrain serve as a shining example of cultural endurance, showcasing the beauty of embracing diversity while striving for unity in a globalized world.
