The Cultural Village Foundation — Katara in Doha is set to host two unique art exhibitions that aim to promote visual arts in the region. The first exhibition will focus on hunting and falconry stamps and will be held at the Arab Postal Stamp Museum in Katara. This exhibition is scheduled to coincide with the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition (S’hail 2024) and will run alongside it.

In addition to the stamp exhibition, Katara will also showcase the works of the late Sudanese painter and calligrapher, Osman Waqialla (1925-2007). This second exhibition will feature Arabic calligraphy and will be held at Hall 2 in Building 18. These exhibitions are a testament to Katara’s commitment to showcasing diverse cultural and artistic expressions.

By hosting these exhibitions, Katara provides a platform for artists and art enthusiasts to come together and appreciate the rich heritage of visual arts in the region. The exhibitions offer a glimpse into the world of hunting, falconry, and Arabic calligraphy, allowing visitors to explore these unique art forms in a curated setting.

The stamp exhibition at the Arab Postal Stamp Museum highlights the intricate designs and historical significance of hunting and falconry stamps. This exhibition serves as an educational opportunity for visitors to learn more about these traditional practices and their representation in art. It also offers a chance for stamp collectors and enthusiasts to view rare and unique pieces.

The Arabic calligraphy exhibition featuring the works of Osman Waqialla showcases the beauty and elegance of this art form. Waqialla’s intricate calligraphy designs are a reflection of his passion and dedication to preserving Arabic script. Through this exhibition, visitors can appreciate the skill and creativity of the late artist and gain a deeper understanding of the art of calligraphy.

Overall, these art exhibitions at Katara provide a platform for artists to share their work with a wider audience and for visitors to engage with diverse cultural expressions. By promoting visual arts, Katara continues to be a hub for creativity and cultural exchange in Doha. Whether one is interested in stamp collections or Arabic calligraphy, these exhibitions offer something for art enthusiasts of all interests.
