The Zakat Affairs Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar has recently provided more than QR12 million in assistance to 500 needy families in the country. This assistance is distributed in accordance with legitimate banks and approved mechanisms, ensuring that 100% of the Zakat funds paid by individuals and companies are delivered directly to the registered beneficiaries. Head of the Zakat Disbursements Department, Mohammed Hassan Al Tamimi, highlighted that the department is dedicated to supporting families in need by offering both periodic and lump-sum assistance.

Periodic assistance, which is provided on a monthly basis, aims to help families cover their basic needs such as food and housing. In July alone, the department distributed QR7,140,497 in periodic assistance to eligible families. In addition to this, the department also provides lump-sum assistance to families based on their individual needs, with a total value of QR5,295,267. All of these forms of assistance are crucial in supporting vulnerable families and ensuring they have access to essential resources.

To ensure that those in need can easily access the assistance they require, the Zakat Affairs Department offers an online application service through their website (www.zakat.gov.qa). Applicants are required to submit all necessary documents and upload them to the designated areas on the website. This streamlined process allows individuals and companies to fulfill their obligatory Zakat contributions efficiently and effectively, using the Zakat Affairs Department application on their smart devices.

The Zakat Disbursements Department is committed to transparency and accountability in their distribution of assistance, working diligently to verify the eligibility of recipients and ensure that funds are allocated appropriately. By following strict controls and regulations, the department strives to uphold the principles of Islamic finance and provide support to those most in need within the community. Through their efforts, the department aims to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable families and contribute to the overall welfare of society.

In addition to providing financial assistance, the Zakat Affairs Department also offers guidance and support to individuals and families seeking help. By offering a range of services and resources, the department aims to empower families to improve their circumstances and achieve financial stability. Through their commitment to serving the community, the department plays a vital role in addressing economic inequality and promoting social justice in Qatar.

Overall, the work of the Zakat Affairs Department in Qatar highlights the importance of charitable giving in Islam and the impact it can have on the lives of those in need. By providing essential assistance to vulnerable families, the department demonstrates the values of compassion and generosity enshrined in Islamic teachings. Through their continued efforts, the department is able to make a positive difference in the lives of many individuals and families, and contribute to the well-being and prosperity of the wider community.
