The Indian Ladies Association (ILA) recently launched its first newsletter, ‘ILA Connect’, on August 1st, 2024. The launch event, held at the ILA Premises, was inaugurated by Dr Maryam Al Dhain, Member of Parliament Southern Governorate, and Mr Yusuf Lori, Director of Information and Follow-ups, Central Governorate. The print version of the newsletter was inaugurated by Mr Boban Thomas, Chairman and Managing Director of BOBSCO, while the digital version was inaugurated by ILA President, Ms Kiran Mangle.
During the launch event, Ms Kiran Mangle shared her vision for the future of ILA Connect and ILA as a whole. She praised the efforts of the editors, Ms Anjali Gupta, Ms Anupam Kinger, and Ms Amrit Lamba, and highlighted the valuable content that the newsletter will offer in areas such as finance, craft, art, culture, and more. ILA Connect aims to promote sponsors, acknowledge member accomplishments, and feature the work of past committees.
The newsletter will also provide information on upcoming events, advertisements, educational resources, skill development opportunities for women, and social outreach engagements. The editors, Ms Anupam Kinger and Ms Anjali Gupta, shared an inspiring story during the launch event.
Following the launch of ILA Connect, the event continued with an orientation program for new members. They were briefed on ILA, its executive members and subcommittees, past events, and upcoming activities. ILA, registered under the Ministry of Social Development as a charitable organization since 1984, has the motto ‘Service before Self’ and is known as one of the most prestigious formal ladies’ groups in Bahrain.
ILA is gearing up to host the iconic Dandiya event on September 20th, 2024, at Crowne Plaza. This event is anticipated to be a grand affair, showcasing the vibrant culture and traditions of India. With a focus on service and empowerment, ILA continues to make a positive impact on the community and provide support to women in Bahrain. The launch of ILA Connect signifies a new chapter for the organization, offering a platform for members to connect, engage, and learn from each other.
