Dubai: RTA’s Expansion of E311 Exit Cuts Travel Time by 60% – News

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has recently completed traffic improvements on E311 (Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road) that have significantly reduced travel times. The capacity of the exit from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to Al Rebat Street has been increased by 50%, allowing for 4,500 vehicles per hour compared to the previous 3,000 vehicles per hour. This enhancement has also reduced travel time from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to Rabat Street towards Business Bay Crossing from 10 minutes to just 4 minutes, marking a 60% reduction in travel time.

Exit 55 leading to Al Rebat Street has been expanded by 600 meters, with an increased traffic overlap distance and the addition of a new lane, bringing the total number of lanes to three. This expansion is part of RTA’s improvement projects in 2024, which cover 45 locations across Dubai and aim to support the city’s sustainable growth while enhancing the happiness and well-being of its residents. These improvements are a step towards positioning Dubai as the best city to live in.

The completion of the traffic improvements on E311 is a significant milestone for Dubai’s transportation network, as it not only increases capacity and reduces travel times but also contributes to the overall efficiency and convenience of the road system in the city.
