The reigning Olympic champion cleared a height of 2.31 meters, equaling his season’s best and solidifying his status as a top contender for the Paris 2024 Games. The competition featured a lineup of 10 jumpers, including notable athletes like Brandon Starc, Donald Thomas, Tobias Potye, and Edgar Rivera.
Barshim showcased his skill by flawlessly clearing the bar at 2.24 and 2.27 meters before successfully reaching 2.31 meters on his first attempts. Despite failing to clear the 2.35-meter mark after two attempts, he put up a commendable performance. He was unable to soar over the bar at 2.38 meters. In the women’s competition, Eleanor Patterson from Australia and Morgan Lake from Great Britain cleared 1.95 meters, while Lia Apostolovski from Slovenia secured third place with a jump of 1.92 meters.
