The Unified Admission Centre at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation in Muscat has announced that the admission results for the Academic Year 2024/2025 will be declared on July 4th. Nearly 24,500 seats are expected to be offered to the 47,917 students who registered during the registration period, which ended on June 1st. Some modules required admission tests, personal interviews, or medical examinations, but these will not impact the initial sorting process. The sorting process is based on students’ marks in the first semester and serves as an initial presentation of the admission results.

Nada bint Mohammed Al Kiyomi, the director of the Department of Admission at the Unified Admission Centre, highlighted that 2,611 students with grades of 80% and above did not receive offers due to a low number of options in the modules they had registered for. In particular, 1,126 students had registered less than 20 modules, which may have affected their chances of securing study seats in the final screening. She encouraged these students to add more modules to their registration page to improve their chances of admission by meeting the necessary terms and conditions.

Furthermore, 3,517 students who did not succeed in the first semester failed to register their choice of modules. Al Kiyomi emphasized that these students must add their modules in the set order within the unified admission system during the period of changing interests or choices, regardless of their current results. This step is essential for ensuring that all students have a fair opportunity to be considered for the available study seats.

The admission centre’s goal is to provide equal opportunities for all students seeking higher education in Oman. By emphasizing the importance of selecting a sufficient number of modules and meeting the required criteria, they aim to guide students in making informed choices during the admission process. Additionally, the centre’s efforts to identify and address specific issues faced by students, such as incorporating more modules and correcting registration errors, demonstrate their commitment to supporting students in achieving their academic goals.

As the admission results are set to be announced, students are advised to carefully review their registration details and make any necessary adjustments to maximize their chances of success. By following the guidelines provided by the Unified Admission Centre and taking proactive steps to enhance their applications, students can increase their chances of securing study seats in the upcoming academic year. Ultimately, the centre’s dedication to transparency and fairness in the admission process aims to facilitate a smooth transition for students as they embark on their higher education journey in Oman.
