Bharatanatyam, an Indian classical dance form originating in Tamil Nadu, is celebrated through the Arangetram, a debut solo performance by dancers who have undergone years of rigorous training under a Guru. In Bahrain, six disciples of renowned Bharatanatyam Guru Smt. Hansul Gani recently showcased their talent with a mesmerizing Arangetram at the prestigious Cultural Hall on May 24, 2024. The event attracted over 750 spectators, including distinguished guests who praised the dancers’ dedication and showcased their proficiency in various aspects of Bharatanatyam. Guru Smt. Hansul Gani and the parents of the debut performers expressed their gratitude to the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain for their support in organizing the Arangetram. The evening marked not only the culmination of years of training for the dancers but also the beginning of a new chapter in their journey to carry forward the tradition of Bharatanatyam. The event was a testament to the dedication and talent of the dancers, as well as the importance of preserving and promoting Indian classical dance forms.

The six disciples – Ms. Charvi Sai Kommineni, Ms. Kanishka Saravanan, Ms. Rishikha Shree Rajasekar, Ms. Samadrita Chakraborty, Ms. Shreshtha Pooven Chathoth, and Ms. Shreya Nayani – showcased their skills with passion and devotion, embodying the essence of Bharatanatyam. The audience was enthralled by the dancers’ performances, which reflected years of training and hard work under the guidance of Guru Smt. Hansul Gani. The Arangetram was a celebration of not just the dancers’ achievements, but also of the rich cultural heritage and tradition of Indian classical dance.
