The highly anticipated Muharraq Ring Road project is nearing completion, with an expected opening date set for early 2025. The Vice President of the Muharraq Municipal Council, Eng. Saleh Jasim Buhaza, provided details about the project during a recent council session. The road will begin at the intersection of the Muharraq Ring Road in Samaheej-Diyar Al Muharraq and will pass through Al Dair, Busaiteen, and Al Sayh before reaching the Bahrain Bay area north of Manama Island. Buhaza emphasized that the project is a crucial step in alleviating traffic congestion on Muharraq Island.

The completed section of the Muharraq Ring Road project features a dual carriageway with three lanes in each direction, extending from the entrance of Amwaj Island to Diyar Muharraq. One of the main goals of the project is to improve connectivity by linking the villages of Qalali, Samaheej, and Al Dair to the main road, providing new entrances and improved access to these areas. In addition to the road infrastructure improvements, the project includes the construction of a sea bridge connecting the Al Sayh area and the Bahrain Financial Harbour.

The sea bridge, spanning approximately 550 meters, will have a main opening 150 meters wide and a height of 93 meters above sea level. It will feature five traffic lanes in each direction and will be connected to two streets with four lanes in each direction. One street will extend eastward from Al Sayh to Diyar Al Muharraq, while the other will link Bahrain Harbour and the waterfront in the Seef area as part of the second phase of the bridge project north of Manama. The completion of these infrastructure projects is expected to significantly improve traffic flow in the area and provide better access to key locations.

The Muharraq Ring Road project is expected to be inaugurated in stages, starting in early 2025. The initial phase of the project has already made a positive impact on traffic congestion on Muharraq Island, with the completed section featuring a dual carriageway with three lanes in each direction. Additionally, the project has enhanced connectivity by linking the villages of Qalali, Samaheej, and Al Dair to the main road, providing better access and new entrances to these areas.

The construction of the sea bridge as part of the Muharraq Ring Road project will further improve connectivity and traffic flow in the area. The bridge, spanning approximately 550 meters, will feature five traffic lanes in each direction and will be connected to two streets with four lanes in each direction. This infrastructure project is a significant step towards alleviating traffic congestion and enhancing transportation in the Muharraq area.

In conclusion, the completion of the Muharraq Ring Road project and the construction of the sea bridge will have a positive impact on traffic congestion and connectivity in the Muharraq area. With an expected opening date in early 2025, the project is set to improve transportation infrastructure and provide better access to key locations in the region. The project is a crucial step towards alleviating traffic congestion and enhancing connectivity on Muharraq Island, benefiting residents and visitors alike.
