Scheduled for May 17 and 18, the event has attracted a total of 29 entries from eight nations. The rally will take place over two days, featuring 15 challenging special stages in the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea areas.
With an impressive record of 19 regional rally championships under his belt, Al Attiyah will be driving a Skoda Fabia at the upcoming Jordan Rally. This year, they will both be driving Škoda Fabia RS Rally2s in the premier category.
Other notable competitors in the rally include Abdulaziz Al Kuwari and Khalid Al Suwaidi, both backed by QMMF in their Skodas, as well as local driver Bader Al Fayez and Qatari veteran Nasser Khalifa Al Atya. Denis Krotov, who comes from the world of cross-country rallying, will also be trying his hand at the MERC for the first time in a SRT-run Fabia Rally2 Evo. The showroom NR4 group will be dominated by Jordanian drivers, with Issa Abu Jamous leading a strong lineup of local stars.
In addition to the main MERC event, there will be separate classifications for Group M2 and Group 2, where Jordanian and Palestinian crews will battle it out for national honors. The rally will cover a total of 532.39 km, with an increased 223.96 km of competitive kilometers across 15 special stages. With a new Clerk of the Course and his deputy overseeing the event, Jordan Motorsport is gearing up for an exciting and action-packed rally in the stunning landscapes of Jordan.
