Sandhagen to face Nurmagomedov as UFC makes its return to Abu Dhabi – News

UFC is set to return to Abu Dhabi with an exciting fight between No. 2 ranked bantamweight Cory Sandhagen and No. 9 ranked Umar Nurmagomedov on August 3. This event is in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and tickets will be available for purchase on Tuesday through etihadarena.ae and ticketmaster.ae.

Sandhagen, with a record of 17-4, aims to solidify his contender status in the bantamweight division. Coming from Aurora, Colorado, he has impressive wins over notable fighters like Rob Font, Chito Vera, and Frankie Edgar. By defeating Nurmagomedov in a convincing manner, Sandhagen hopes to secure a title shot in the near future.

On the other hand, Nurmagomedov, with an undefeated record of 17-0, looks to make a statement in the bantamweight division by taking on a top-ranked opponent. Hailing from Chelyabinsk, Russia, he has already showcased dominant performances against fighters such as Raoni Barcelos, Brian Kelleher, and Sergey Morozov. His goal is to continue his winning streak by defeating Sandhagen in Abu Dhabi.
