15,000 visitors attend the Rummana event in Jabal Al Akhdar

The second edition of the Rummana event in the Wilayat of Jabal Al Akhdar has been a huge success, attracting over 15,000 visitors since its opening on July 4th. The event has also seen significant sales, with over 500 kilograms of fruits and other products sold from 10 small and medium enterprises. This initiative is part of the agricultural tourism projects in the region, with the aim of promoting environmentally-friendly tourism and providing unique experiences for visitors.

Khalid bin Hamad Al-Aghbari, Head of the Field Work Team at the Agricultural Tourism Development Company (Janaen), highlighted that the Rummana project offers visitors an exceptional experience among the pomegranate trees, for which Jabal Al Akhdar is known. This project is the first of its kind in the region and aims to enhance the local value and status of Jabal Al Akhdar as a leading tourist, cultural, and agricultural destination in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

The Wilayat of Jabal Al Akhdar is blessed with natural resources unique to the region, which can enhance the competitiveness of the agricultural and tourism sectors in Oman. The Rummana event plays a significant role in promoting agricultural tourism in the region and supports local farmers in marketing their products. Additionally, the event includes workshops, cultural events, children’s games, and corners for productive families to sell their products, creating a comprehensive experience for visitors.

The project includes a variety of events, activities, restaurants, and cafes to cater to the diverse interests of visitors. Workshops and cultural events are organized to educate children and families about tourism agriculture and instill the importance of sustainable practices. The event aims to provide a holistic experience for visitors, combining educational elements with entertainment and opportunities to support local businesses.
