Young Bahrainis are playing a significant role in driving urban development in the country, according to two ministers celebrating World Habitat Day. Her Excellency Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, and H.E. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, highlighted the importance of youth in shaping Bahrain’s urban future. They acknowledged the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in supporting these initiatives. The ministers emphasized the crucial role of young people, particularly those in engineering and services, in advancing Sustainable Development Goal 11, which focuses on creating inclusive, safe, and sustainable cities.

Al Rumaihi praised the enthusiasm and creativity of Bahraini youth, stating that they have been instrumental in the success of national projects. Other projects focus on developing parks, markets, and green spaces to enhance the Kingdom’s urban areas. The ministers reaffirmed Bahrain’s dedication to urban sustainability, with youth involvement remaining a central pillar of the Kingdom’s development plans for the future.
