Philippine First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos recently visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Accompanied by dignitaries, the first lady was greeted by the mosque’s Director-General, Dr. Yousef Al Obaidli. The delegation was briefed on the mosque’s message of coexistence, tolerance, and openness to other cultures, inspired by the late Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The mosque plays a significant role in promoting Islamic culture and facilitating cross-cultural communication worldwide.

During the visit, the guests were presented with two publications by the Centre. The first publication, titled “Spaces of Light,” features winning photographs from the Spaces of Light photography award, celebrating the mosque’s scenic aesthetics and visual culture. The second publication, “Houses of God,” showcases places of worship in Islamic history. This gesture highlights the cultural significance and artistic beauty of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a symbol of unity and harmony, attracting visitors from around the world to admire its architectural marvels and spiritual ambiance. The mosque stands as a testament to the UAE’s commitment to fostering tolerance and understanding among diverse communities. With its grand domes, intricate mosaics, and stunning architecture, the mosque serves as a beacon of peace and coexistence in the region.

The visit by the Philippine First Lady underscores the strong diplomatic ties between the Philippines and the UAE. It also signifies a mutual respect for each other’s cultures and traditions. The exchange of publications further enhances the cultural exchange between the two nations, promoting a deeper understanding of each other’s history and heritage. Such interactions contribute to strengthening diplomatic relations and fostering goodwill between countries.

In a world marked by cultural diversity and varying religious beliefs, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque serves as a symbol of unity and inclusivity. Its message of coexistence and tolerance resonates with people of all backgrounds, reinforcing the importance of harmony and acceptance. As a prominent landmark in Abu Dhabi, the mosque continues to inspire visitors with its beauty and spiritual significance, embodying the values of peace and respect for all.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre plays a vital role in preserving the mosque’s heritage and promoting its cultural significance. Through initiatives like the Spaces of Light photography award, the Centre celebrates the artistic beauty of the mosque and its surrounding landscapes. By sharing these publications with esteemed guests like the Philippine First Lady, the Centre aims to foster cultural exchange and appreciation, encouraging a deeper connection with the mosque’s history and legacy.
