Freshworks Inc has launched a new data centre in the UAE, powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), to cater to customers across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. This move highlights Freshworks’ commitment to driving innovation by providing modern, AI-powered customer and employee service solutions to businesses in the region. The data centre will serve customers from 72 countries in the MEA region, making UAE the hub of Freshworks’ operations in the region.

Abe Smith, Chief of Global Field Operations at Freshworks, expressed excitement about the new data centre in UAE and emphasized the company’s dedication to supporting the growth and digital transformation of businesses in MEA. The data centre, in partnership with AWS, will provide regional data compliance for companies in the UAE, offering business software solutions in Customer Service, IT, and Sales and Marketing. Freshworks will collaborate with AWS in joint go-to-market efforts to serve mutual customers in the region.

The data centre, powered by AWS, will not only host all of Freshworks’ products for customers in the region but will also leverage AWS as the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. Sandie Overtveld, Senior Vice President of Freshworks APAC and MEA, highlighted the importance of data residency for customers in the region and noted that the data centre will enhance solution performance, enabling businesses to better serve their customers and employees in the UAE.

Freshworks’ research indicates a growing adoption of generative AI in businesses, with a potential market of about $300 million in the UAE. The company aims to capitalize on this market opportunity by offering AI-powered solutions that cater to the needs of businesses in the region. Freshworks has received positive feedback from customers like Magrabi, who attest to the company’s role in enhancing customer experience management and streamlining processes.

Praveen Sridhar, head of Partner Business at AWS India and South Asia, praised Freshworks’ expansion in the MEA region and highlighted the collaboration between Freshworks and AWS to deliver superior performance, scalability, and flexibility to customers. The partnership aims to drive business growth and deliver customer-centric solutions enabled by AI. The UAE data centre represents a significant milestone in Freshworks’ expansion strategy in MEA, demonstrating the company’s commitment to facilitate companies in delivering exceptional customer and employee experiences.

Overall, the launch of the data centre in the UAE marks a strategic move for Freshworks to strengthen its presence in the MEA region and provide businesses with the tools and infrastructure needed to succeed in the digital age. By partnering with AWS and leveraging AI technologies, Freshworks aims to support companies in enhancing their customer service, IT, and marketing capabilities, ultimately driving growth and innovation in the region. The collaboration with key regional customers and the launch of the data centre signal a new chapter in Freshworks’ journey to empower businesses in MEA with cutting-edge solutions.
