Thousands of workers in the UAE will undergo training to become first responders in case of heat-related illnesses. The initiative was launched by the Ministry of Health and Prevention in collaboration with other government entities. The training will focus on recognizing the signs of heat stroke, providing first aid, and coordinating medical assistance. The campaign will cover worksites and accommodations in Sharjah, including the central region and northwestern towns. Health screenings, such as blood pressure and diabetes tests, will be conducted, along with promoting a healthy lifestyle through dietary choices and freebies.

The training programme aims to equip workers with the skills necessary to save their colleagues during emergencies like heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Representatives, doctors, and experts will visit worksites and accommodations in Sharjah to raise awareness about heat exhaustion starting July 1. The campaign will cover various regions in the emirate to ensure workers are prepared to recognize and provide immediate aid in the event of heat-related incidents. Health screenings, including blood pressure and diabetes tests, will be conducted to monitor the well-being of workers.

As part of the campaign, workers will receive information on beneficial foods and drinks to protect themselves in high-temperature environments. Freebies such as food, juices, and personalized meal plans will be distributed to promote a healthy lifestyle. The resources aim to educate workers on the importance of proper diet, hydration, and nutrition to prevent heat-related illnesses. The campaign will also involve social media channels to reach a larger audience of workers in Sharjah.
