The ongoing Olympic Games Paris 2024 have seen a significant presence of Arab athletes competing in various disciplines. Among them, Tunisia’s Fares Ferjani and Egypt’s Mohamed El Sayed have already won medals in fencing. The event, which started on July 26 and will continue until August 11, is being broadcast live and exclusively in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region on beIN SPORTS across 17 dedicated channels, providing viewers with high-definition coverage of the games.

One of the standout athletes to watch is Mutaz Essa Barshim from Qatar, who is aiming for back-to-back gold medals in the high jump event after securing silver medals in the previous two Olympic Games. Alongside Barshim, Qatar’s delegation includes weightlifter Fares El Bakh and participants in athletics, shooting, beach volleyball, and swimming. Another athlete to keep an eye on is Jordan’s taekwondo star Julyana Al Sadeq, who hopes to make history as Jordan’s first Olympic taekwondo medallist in the 67kg category.

Egypt’s delegation to the Paris Olympics is the largest ever from the Middle East and Africa, with 164 athletes competing across 22 sports. Among the medal hopefuls are weightlifter Sara Ahmed and Ahmed El Gendy, who took silver in Modern Pentathlon at Tokyo 2020. The UAE will have its first female cyclist Safiya Al Sayegh competing in the Women’s Elite Road Race, while Lebanon’s Benjamin Hassan has already made history as the first Lebanese tennis player to win a match at the Olympics.

Saudi Arabia’s Dunia Abutaleb has made headlines as the first female from the Kingdom to earn direct Olympic qualification in the 49kg taekwondo category. The Kingdom will be represented by at least nine athletes across four sports. Additionally, other notable Arab talents competing in the event include Tunisian runner Marwa Bouzayani in the 3,000-metre steeplechase and Moroccan participants in the inaugural inclusion of breakdancing, the Olympics’ newest sport.

To catch all the action and support the Arab athletes competing in the Olympic Games Paris 2024, viewers can tune into beIN SPORTS. The network is exclusively broadcasting the event with commentary in both Arabic and English, allowing fans to stay updated on the performances of their favorite athletes.
