The Eid Al Adha holiday is approaching, and with it comes the hustle and bustle of travel. Millions of people are expected to take to the skies, roads, and railways to visit family and friends during this busy period. While the excitement of the holiday is palpable, the surge in travel volume can also bring long lines, packed terminals, and other logistical challenges. To ensure a smooth and stress-free travel experience, it is important to plan ahead and take some essential tips into consideration.

Planning your trip well in advance is crucial to avoid headaches during peak travel seasons. Booking flights, hotels, and other transportation early can help you lock in the best fares and availability. Consider flying on the actual holiday or a day or two before/after to avoid the crowds at airports and airlines. It is also important to minimize metal accessories and remove them before going through security inspection, as well as limiting liquids in your carry-on to containers of 100ml or less to breeze through security checkpoints.

Furthermore, it is essential to avoid bringing banned items in your carry-on, such as sharp objects, lighters, flammable materials, and toy weapons. Limiting the number of people accompanying you to the airport can help minimize congestion and ease the flow of passengers. Arriving at the airport early is also recommended, with a buffer of 2-3 hours before domestic flights and 3-4 hours before international flights to account for potential delays during the busy Eid travel period.

Traveling light and avoiding checking bags if possible can help you breeze through the airport without waiting for luggage. If you do need to check bags, be sure to arrive even earlier to account for the extra time. Staying connected by downloading your airline’s mobile app and signing up for flight status alerts can help you monitor any changes or delays in real-time. Additionally, it is important to be flexible and build in some flexibility in your schedule in case of unexpected disruptions like weather or technical issues causing flight delays or cancellations.
