FIFA Director of Refereeing Massimo Busacca recently visited Doha to attend the matches of the Ooredoo Stars League. The Swiss former football referee was invited by the Referees Department and the Referees Committee of the Qatar Football Association, headed by Hani Taleb Ballan, to observe and support the Qatari referees. Busacca attended games between Al Shamal and Al Shahaniya at the Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium and Al Rayyan and Al Ahli at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.

During his visit, Busacca will participate in analytical meetings with local referees to provide guidance and share his expertise in the world of refereeing. His presence in Doha exemplifies the strong relationship between the Referees Department of the Qatar Football Association and FIFA, as they collaborate to enhance the development of referees and the overall refereeing system.

As a former referee with extensive experience, Busacca’s visit is aimed at advising and guiding referees to improve their skills and performance on the field. This cooperation between FIFA and the Qatar Football Association highlights their commitment to supporting referees and ensuring high-quality officiating in football matches.

The analytical meetings attended by Busacca will involve discussions and explanations to help referees understand and implement best practices in their roles. Through practical applications and mentorship from Busacca, local referees will have the opportunity to refine their techniques and enhance their decision-making abilities during matches.

The strong relationship between the Referees Department of the Qatar Football Association and FIFA underscores their joint efforts to elevate the standards of refereeing in Qatar and beyond. By providing support and guidance to referees, both organizations are committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement in the refereeing community.

Overall, Busacca’s visit to Doha signifies the ongoing collaboration between FIFA and the Qatar Football Association to empower referees through mentorship, training, and knowledge-sharing. As the world of football continues to evolve, it is essential for referees to receive the necessary support and resources to enhance their performance and contribute to the integrity of the game.
