This weekend, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) in Doha, Qatar, has announced the temporary closure of the tunnel from Corniche to Ras Abu Abboud Expressway. In addition, three lanes in one direction from Sharq Intersection to Hamad Airport will be closed for maintenance, starting at 2am on Friday, November 1, 2024, and lasting until 5am on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Road users are advised to use alternate routes as indicated in the provided map to reach their destinations.

Another closure announced by Ashghal is a nine-hour shutdown on Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor for traffic from Umm Lekhba tunnel to Leqtaifiya tunnel, heading towards Hamad Airport. Service roads and Leqtaifiya signal will remain open during this closure. Additionally, Al Shamal Road traffic towards the airport will be closed from 1am to 10am on Friday, November 1, 2024. Motorists traveling from the North or Al Markhiya are advised to use Al Duhail Interchange to access Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor, while those coming from Doha should utilize the Umm Lekhba Interchange to reach the service roads and continue to their destinations.

These closures are part of Ashghal’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the road infrastructure in Doha. It is important for road users to plan their routes accordingly and follow the diversions in place to avoid any inconveniences. By utilizing the alternate routes provided, motorists can ensure a smooth journey to their intended destinations during the closure period.

Ashghal recommends staying updated on any further announcements or changes to the closure schedule through their social media channels and official website. This proactive approach will help road users stay informed and plan their travel accordingly. By following the recommended detours and being aware of the closure schedules, drivers can avoid delays and reach their destinations in a timely manner.

As always, safety is a top priority during road closures and maintenance activities. Motorists are advised to follow all traffic signs and signals, adhere to speed limits, and remain vigilant while driving through the affected areas. By practicing caution and patience on the roads, road users can contribute to a safe and efficient traffic flow during the closure period.

In conclusion, the temporary closures announced by Ashghal in Doha are necessary for the maintenance and improvement of the road network. Road users are encouraged to use the alternate routes provided, plan their journeys in advance, and stay informed of any updates or changes. By following the recommended detours, respecting traffic regulations, and prioritizing safety, motorists can help ensure a smooth and seamless travel experience during the closure period.
