In a significant win for the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Tata Advanced Systems has inked a deal with the Kingdom of Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces for the local production of Wheeled Armoured Platform. This marks a major milestone for Tata Aerospace & Defence as they expand their reach as a Defence OEM. The collaboration with DRDO and Tata Motors has led to the development of WhAP, an indigenously designed and developed amphibious wheeled combat vehicle. The contract includes supplying vehicles to the Moroccan forces over a three-year period, making it the largest contract for Indian-made armoured vehicles both within and outside the country.

Trials of the vehicle have been underway in Morocco for several months, showcasing its capabilities to navigate through various terrains including muddy or slushy areas.
