Al Ittihad secured a 1-0 victory over Al Ahli in the Sea Derby, with Saleh Al Shehri scoring the only goal of the match in the first half. The game was attended by over 52,000 fans at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium. Al Ittihad manager Laurent Blanc achieved his first derby win with this result, maintaining the pressure on league leaders Al Hilal. The match saw Al Ahli’s Franck Kessie and Al Ittihad goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic making crucial plays, with Kessie almost equalizing in the second half, only for his effort to be ruled offside after a VAR review.

Despite Al Ahli’s efforts to level the score, Al Ittihad’s defense, led by goalkeeper Rajkovic, held strong to secure the victory. Al Shehri’s goal, assisted by Moussa Diaby, proved to be the difference-maker in the game. With this win, Al Ittihad consolidates their position in second place in the standings with 24 points from 27 games, their only defeat coming against league leaders Al Hilal. On the other hand, Al Ahli’s recent form under coach Mathias Jaissle has been inconsistent, with just one win in their last five games, putting them at risk of dropping into the bottom half of the league table.

The Sea Derby match showcased the competitive spirit and skill of both teams, with Al Ittihad ultimately emerging victorious. The heated rivalry between the two clubs added to the excitement of the game, with fans packing the stadium to show their support. Al Ittihad’s solid performance, especially in defense, was key to securing the win over Al Ahli. The team’s ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities, such as Al Shehri’s goal, highlights their offensive prowess and determination to secure three points in important matches.

Manager Laurent Blanc’s tactics and leadership played a crucial role in guiding Al Ittihad to victory in the Sea Derby, marking a significant achievement for him as the team’s coach. The players’ relentless efforts on the field, including crucial saves by goalkeeper Rajkovic and impactful plays by goal-scorer Al Shehri, demonstrated their commitment to achieving success. As they continue to challenge Al Hilal for the top spot in the league, Al Ittihad’s winning mentality will be crucial in maintaining their position and competing for the title. The team’s supporters can look forward to more thrilling matches and strong performances from their favorite players as the season progresses.

In conclusion, Al Ittihad’s 1-0 victory over Al Ahli in the Sea Derby was a testament to their resilience, skill, and determination to succeed in crucial games. The intense rivalry between the two clubs added an element of drama to the match, making it a memorable event for fans and players alike. With this win, Al Ittihad solidifies their position in the league standings and sets their sights on challenging for the top spot. The team’s performance, both offensively and defensively, showcased their capabilities and potential to continue their winning streak. As the season unfolds, football enthusiasts can eagerly anticipate more exciting matches and outstanding displays of talent from Al Ittihad and their competitors.
