Qatar’s Haidan and Al Naemi impress on first day of Al Shaqab International Showjumping League

Al Shaqab Champions Class 130 CM CSI1 took place at the Longines Indoor Arena at Al Shaqab, where riders delivered thrilling performances on the opening day of the Al Shaqab International Showjumping League. Hussain Said A M Haidan emerged victorious, riding Viahipi d’Auzay to a flawless time of 29.30 seconds in the CSI1 Al Shaqab Champions. Qatar dominated the podium, with Fahad Jassim H K Al Thani and Mohammed Yousef Al Jaber securing second and third place, respectively. Sultan Salem Al Naemi of Qatar also shone in the CSIY-B Youth Champions, taking first place with his horse Cethys de Vernay.

In the CSIJ-B Junior 115cm event, Hasan Al Hady of Saudi Arabia claimed the top spot with Capoen, followed by Qatar’s Fahad Jassim H K Al Thani and Mohammed Jassim A J Al Thani in second and third place, respectively. Abdulaziz Jassim A J Al Thani of Qatar and Gabbana M emerged as the winners of the CSICh-B Future Champions 105cm event. Optimum Time classes were also held, with Abdulla Faisal Al Mana, Rashid Abdulaziz T Al Torki, and Aisha Jassim M. Al Sorour taking the top three spots in the 80 cm class.

The Al Shaqab International Showjumping League serves as a qualifier for the FEI Group Seven Championship Final, with competitions in the Junior, Young Rider, and Youth categories. The competition will conclude with the highly anticipated Al Shaqab Champions 135 cm class on Saturday. The event saw riders from Qatar and Saudi Arabia showcasing their skills and competing for top honors in various categories. The winners were awarded by prominent figures at Al Shaqab, including Karam Syed Majid Hamad Al Husny, Abdulrahman Al Kaabi, and Ahmed Khaled Al Hemaidi.
