Argentina’s star player and captain Lionel Messi has been left out of the squad for the upcoming South American World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Colombia. This decision comes after Messi suffered an ankle injury during the Copa America final last month. The 37-year-old forward is currently recovering at his club, Inter Miami, which has led to his exclusion from the 28-man squad announced by the Argentine FA. Along with Messi, goalkeeper Franco Armani and striker Angel Di Maria, who recently retired from the national team, were also left off the squad.

Coach Lionel Scaloni has named some new faces in the squad, including midfielder Ezequiel Fernandez and striker Valentin Castellanos, as well as young players with limited international experience. Some of the new additions to the squad include Alejandro Garnacho, Valentin Carboni, Valentin Barco, and Matias Soule. The team will face Chile on September 5th at the Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires before taking on Colombia five days later in Barranquilla. The squad includes a mix of experienced players and promising young talents, aiming to make a strong impact in the upcoming qualifiers.

The Argentine squad for the World Cup qualifiers features a mix of goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards from various clubs around the world. Goalkeepers include Walter Benitez, Geronimo Rulli, Juan Musso, and Emiliano Martinez. The defensive lineup consists of players like Gonzalo Montiel, Nahuel Molina, Cristian Romero, German Pezzella, and others. In midfield, players like Guido Rodriguez, Alexis Mac Allister, and Rodrigo De Paul will provide stability and creativity, while forwards like Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez will look to provide the team with goals.

The absence of Messi from the squad creates an opportunity for other players to step up and make a mark in the upcoming matches. The team will rely on a mix of experienced players and newer faces to deliver strong performances and secure crucial victories in the World Cup qualifiers. With the support of the coaching staff and the backing of the fans, Argentina will look to build on their success in the Copa America and continue their quest for World Cup glory. The exclusion of key players like Messi and Di Maria will test the depth and resilience of the squad, but it also presents an opportunity for new talents to shine on the international stage.

The upcoming qualifiers against Chile and Colombia will be a test of Argentina’s strength and determination as they aim to secure their spot in the 2022 World Cup. The team will face tough competition from their South American rivals but will be eager to prove themselves and continue their winning momentum. With a blend of experienced campaigners and emerging talents, Argentina has the potential to overcome the challenges and emerge as a strong contender for the World Cup title. The absence of Messi may be a setback, but it also offers a chance for other players to rise to the occasion and showcase their skills on the world stage.

In conclusion, Argentina’s squad for the World Cup qualifiers reflects a mix of experience and youth, with new faces given the opportunity to impress in the absence of key players. The team will rely on its collective strength and unity to overcome the challenges ahead and secure vital wins in the upcoming matches. With the support of their fans and the backing of the coaching staff, Argentina will look to continue their journey towards World Cup qualification and establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with on the international stage.
