Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka both showed impressive form at the Brisbane International tennis tournament, making it to the quarter-finals. Djokovic defeated Gael Monfils in straight sets, while Sabalenka overcame Yulia Putintseva. Djokovic, aiming for his 25th Grand Slam singles title, will face Reilly Opelka next. The Serbian player reflected on his long history with Monfils and their past battles on the court. Sabalenka, looking to win her third consecutive Australian Open title, demonstrated her dominance with a solid performance.

In the women’s draw, rising star Mirra Andreeva and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard showcased their potential with impressive victories. Andreeva defeated Linda Noskova, seeking revenge for her loss to the same player the previous year. The 17-year-old Russian is aiming to crack the top 10 rankings this season and is coached by former Wimbledon champion Conchita Martinez. On the other hand, Mpetshi Perricard, who defeated Nick Kyrgios in the first round, continued his strong showing by overcoming US Open semi-finalist Frances Tiafoe.

Both players displayed excellent serving skills, with Mpetshi Perricard hitting numerous aces in his matches. The Frenchman acknowledged the challenge of facing experienced opponents like Tiafoe but managed to put pressure on his opponent’s second serve. Meanwhile, Andreeva’s rapid improvement over the past year has positioned her as a contender for Grand Slam titles in 2025. She now faces a tough matchup against Ons Jabeur of Tunisia in the upcoming round.

As the Brisbane International progresses, fans can expect more exciting matches and potential upsets. Djokovic and Sabalenka’s strong performances indicate their readiness for the upcoming Australian Open, where they will look to continue their success. With the emergence of promising young talents like Andreeva and Mpetshi Perricard, the future of tennis appears bright, with new stars ready to make their mark on the sport. Stay tuned for more thrilling tennis action at the Brisbane International as players compete for prestigious titles and valuable ranking points.
