Atletico Madrid has announced a new strategic partnership with the Saudi Arabian carrier Riyadh Air, which includes renaming the club’s stadium to Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium. The official unveiling of the new stadium name will take place on October 20 and the contract will be valid until 2033. Thousands of fans will witness the Riyadh Air logo being revealed on the main facades of the stadium.

This partnership agreement was signed on August 10, 2023, making Riyadh Air the official sponsor and exclusive airline partner of Atletico Madrid. As part of the agreement, the Riyadh Aviation logo will appear on the front of the players’ shirts and official uniform. Riyadh Air is set to officially launch in mid-2025 and aims to provide world-class services to customers traveling to and from the Middle East from its headquarters in Riyadh.

With plans to connect guests to over 100 destinations worldwide by 2030, Riyadh Air aims to leverage Saudi Arabia’s geographical location between Asia, Africa, and Europe. Tony Douglas, CEO of the airline, expressed the significance of the renaming of one of the world’s most iconic stadiums to Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium. He emphasized that this step not only enhances the airline’s presence in global sports but also contributes to promoting Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, and the company on an international level.

CEO of Atletico Madrid, Miguel Angel Gil, also shared his pride in extending the partnership with Riyadh Air, resulting in the renaming of the stadium. The collaboration between the Saudi carrier and the Spanish club signifies a significant milestone in Riyadh Air’s football partnership journey, showcasing a strong commitment to the world of global sports. The rebranded Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium reflects the growing presence of the airline in the aviation industry and its strategic positioning in the international market.

Overall, the partnership between Riyadh Air and Atletico Madrid marks a significant step in enhancing the global presence of both entities. By renaming the stadium to Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium, the Saudi carrier strengthens its position in the aviation industry and promotes its commitment to providing top-quality services to customers. With plans to connect guests to numerous destinations worldwide, Riyadh Air is poised to make a mark in the Middle East region and beyond. Through this partnership, both Riyadh Air and Atletico Madrid aim to elevate their respective brands and contribute to the international sports and aviation sectors.
