Al Wasl Club ended a 17-year drought by winning their third President Cup trophy in dominant fashion by defeating Al Nasr 4-0 in the final. The club, formed in 1974 through a merger, last won the prestigious competition in the 2006-2007 season. Coached by Serbian Milos Milojevic, the team’s victory also led them to a comfortable lead in the UAE Pro League and qualification for the AFC Champions League.

Brazilian Fabio Lima was the standout player in the final, scoring two goals, including one from the penalty spot. Swiss defender Haris Seferovic and Emirati forward Ali Saleh also contributed to the emphatic victory. In the semi-finals, Al Wasl defeated Ittihad Kalba 4-1, while Al Nasr beat Shabab Al Ahli 4-3.

The match took place at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, solidifying Al Wasl’s reputation as a dominant force in UAE football. The team’s achievement not only brought them the President Cup but also kept them in contention for a double by leading the Pro League. The victory highlighted their strength and consistency throughout the season.

Fans and supporters of Al Wasl Club were overjoyed by the team’s performance in the final, as they witnessed a commanding display of skill and determination. The players’ hard work and dedication paid off as they secured a memorable win against tough opposition. The victory marked a significant milestone for the club and its loyal fanbase.

Overall, Al Wasl’s triumph in the President Cup final showcased their talent and potential as a top-tier football club in the UAE. With talented players like Fabio Lima leading the way, the team demonstrated their ability to compete at a high level and achieve success. The club’s rich history and recent success make them a force to be reckoned with in UAE football.
