Dubai is taking a significant step towards integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its education system, as teachers in the emirate will soon receive training in the field of AI. The initiative, announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to equip educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively use AI in their teaching practices. The top 10 teachers who successfully integrate AI into their teaching will be recognized with awards totaling Dh1 million during the next edition of the AI Retreat in April 2025. This program aligns with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence (DUB.AI) and reflects the city’s commitment to building a future-ready educational system supported by AI technologies.

The initiative underscores Dubai’s commitment to investing in education and preparing students for the future. By providing teachers with training in AI, the emirate aims to create an optimal learning environment that enhances student learning outcomes and equips them with the necessary tools for success in an increasingly digital world. The program will be overseen by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), ensuring that teachers receive best-in-class training on utilizing advanced AI applications and tools to automate tasks and personalize learning experiences.

The comprehensive training program will combine practical and online sessions, allowing teachers to enhance their skills and knowledge of AI. Regular assessments will also be conducted to ensure that teachers are effectively integrating AI into their teaching practices and maximizing its potential to enhance student learning outcomes. By empowering teachers with the knowledge and skills to leverage AI in the classroom, Dubai aims to create a dynamic and innovative education system that prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.

Sheikh Hamdan stressed the importance of investing in education as a means of securing Dubai’s present and future. By equipping students with future-ready tools and creating an environment supported by AI technologies, Dubai aims to stay at the forefront of innovation and technological advancement. The recognition of teachers who effectively integrate AI into their teaching practices serves as a testament to the importance of embracing technology in education and ensuring that students are prepared for a rapidly evolving world.

With the launch of this training program, Dubai is taking a proactive approach to integrating AI into its education system and ensuring that teachers are equipped to leverage the potential of AI in the classroom. By investing in the professional development of educators and providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to use AI effectively, Dubai is positioning itself as a leader in innovative education practices. This initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to creating a future-ready educational system that prioritizes the development of students’ skills and abilities in a rapidly changing world.
