Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saoud Al Thani has been re-elected as President of the Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) for the term 2024-2028. The decision was made during the General Assembly meeting held at the Qatar Olympic Committee headquarters. Khalid Saleh Al Rumaihi was elected as Secretary-General, while Mohamed Abdullah Al Meer, Abdullah Hussain Al Marri, and Sara Abdulaziz Al Sheeb were elected as members of the Association’s Board of Directors.

The Assembly also focused on important agenda items such as approving the minutes of the previous meeting, endorsing the financial statements for the year 2023, and reviewing the achievements of the past year. Additionally, the members discussed strategic goals for the next phase, highlighting the QCA’s commitment to organizational excellence and development. Sheikh Abdulaziz emphasized that the Association will continue its efforts to elevate the sport and provide more international exposure to the national teams.

As the newly re-elected President, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saoud Al Thani expressed his dedication to taking cricket in Qatar to new heights. He reassured the members of the QCA that the Association would work tirelessly to enhance the sport’s popularity and success in the country. With a focus on organizational excellence and development, the QCA aims to strengthen its position in the global cricket community and support the growth of cricket at all levels.

The re-election of Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saoud Al Thani sends a strong message of stability and continuity within the QCA. Under his leadership, the Association has made significant progress in promoting cricket and nurturing talent in Qatar. The newly elected members of the Board of Directors bring fresh perspectives and ideas that will contribute to the QCA’s future success and growth. By working together, the QCA aims to build on its achievements and expand its reach both domestically and internationally.

In addition to focusing on the development of the sport, the QCA is committed to providing opportunities for the national teams to compete on the international stage. By participating in tournaments and events abroad, Qatari cricketers can showcase their skills and experience different playing styles. This exposure not only benefits the players individually but also raises the profile of cricket in Qatar and attracts more interest from fans and sponsors.

In conclusion, the re-election of Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saoud Al Thani as President of the Qatar Cricket Association signals a bright future for the sport in the country. With a renewed focus on organizational excellence and development, the QCA is poised to achieve greater success and elevate cricket to new heights. By continuing to support the growth of cricket at all levels and providing international exposure to national teams, the QCA is laying the foundation for a strong and vibrant cricket community in Qatar.
